Finding the lowest gas prices can be tough in this day and age but if you have the internet you can always do some quick research to locate the lowest gas prices in your area. Some websites you'll find have updates daily on the gas prices, while others you might be able to subscribe to their email and get notified each day of the current prices. When in doubt or right before a long trip it is always good to call the gas station up and confirm so that you take the right amount of money with you on the trip.
One thing that I find myself doing is writing down the prices I have in my journal each time I have to put in some gas. When I am on the road and see a low price I try to write it down if I am able to or either makes a mental note of that station. Saving a few bucks here and there with gas can add up in the end because as you know the cost of gas can be very expensive.
If you tend to buy gas at one station you might want to see if they have any award or card programs. The programs that they have vary depending on what gas station you use. A few of the gasoline awards include but not limited to: Discover Open Road Card, Chase Freedom MasterCard, Discover More Card, Blue Cash from American Express, and Capital One No Hassle Cash Reward program. Most of the programs don't include annual fees but it's always a good thing to check into before deciding what program you want to enroll in.
